Co.Station, the innovative and inspiring workplace for start-ups and scale-ups, announced on 12 March the launch of co.mobility, the first mobility ecosystem in Belgium. A month later, forty companies and start-ups have already joined. And that month was also the month of the lockdown measures because of the coronavirus, which meant that companies and their leaders had other things on their minds.
co.mobility is the very first mobility ecosystem in Belgium and Co.Station plays the role of facilitator between the different actors. It focuses on important mobility topics such as smart applications based on the exploitation of mobility data, the future fleet of vehicles, new services (micromobility, on-demand mobility) or new intelligent infrastructures. From October 2020, 4 prototypes of flexible products or services will be developed to provide concrete solutions for mobility, in terms of smart applications and MaaS (Mobility as a Service).
Forty companies have confirmed over the past month that they are joining this mobility ecosystem. co.mobility also welcomes 6 Founding Partners: AG, BNP Paribas Fortis, Brussels Airport Company, SNCB, STIB and Touring. These key players are united around a common objective: to tackle the major challenges of today’s mobility in an efficient manner. For CEOs 4 Climate, too, mobility is of course a spearhead, as clear and conscious choices enable CEOs to encourage their employees to behave sustainably. This can be done, for example, by regularly having employees work from home, providing pedelecs for employees or promoting car sharing, and by being able to significantly reduce traffic congestion and the associated pressure on the climate and the environment.
